It’s been stressful and busy couple of weeks for the Snow Skool as they’ve been working hard throughout their Level 2 examinations. On the 15th of March, the team met at Chaudanne first thing to meet their BASI instructors who would be assessing them over the two-week period. The fabulous team as BASI ensured that a relaxed atmosphere was created to make sure everyone in the team was relaxed and calm. The sun had come out and there was a fresh layer of snow, so conditions were perfect!
Through the two weeks the BASI instructors have been assessing the crew on perfecting their long and short turns on steeper terrain, steeps bumps and variables as well as central theme and teaching. Lots to remember! But the team have been coping well throughout their assessment and were proud of them. I’m happy to report that a significant amount of the group passed their Level 2 – well done guys! The team celebrated at Ronnies with multiple jugs of beer – don’t think they would’ve celebrated any other way!
This week, the beloved Rond Point has been hosting their annual “Ronnies Loves Music” festival. The team have been enjoying some warmer apres weather and have been apres in in the sun in just a t-shirt – don’t you just love spring skiing! Unfortunately, this hot weather has created quite a bit of slush despite just having a fresh dump of snow. It also means there are some serious goggle tans knocking about the crew with the best goggle tan award going to Ed!
The 6 nations have still been a popular reason to visit Meribel local pubs and with Ireland beating England just the day after Saint Patricks day it's safe to say the Maddie was a very happy girl indeed!
The past 11 weeks have flown by, and we can’t quite believe it's over! The Snow Skool team have made friends for life, pushed themselves out of their comfort zone, learnt new skills, obtained new qualifications, met so many new people and partied till the early hours. It has been a pleasure to host them all with the staff enjoying the lovely atmosphere created by the Snow Skool within the chalets and they will miss hosting them once we welcome normal guests back into our chalets next week.
We hope that the SnowSkool have had the best time and we will miss them greatly!
