It was a sporty week in Canada this week, with the Superbowl and Winter Olympics kicking off. Some of our skiers were clearly inspired (now that Shaun White is knocked off the top spot perhaps?!) because everyone seems to be trying snowboarding!
✏️ Big White reached a sweaty SIX degrees this week! (Ok, it’s all relative, but this is pretty warm for Big White in February).
✏️ The warm weather and start of the Winter Olympics (HUGE deal in Canada) made for a fun week for a few visits from parents. Grace’s parents travelled from the UK and Kate’s parents came from Ontario.
✏️ Sports fans also enjoyed the Superbowl on Sunday.
✏️ A big crew went down the mountain for some wine tasting to celebrate Hannah’s birthday (Happy Birthday Hannah!) and back up in Big White everyone went to Cantina del Centro where the birthday girl enjoyed a tequila and chocolate cake combo.
✏️ On-snow activities included Natasha and Andrew’s dog-sledging trip and lots of skiers trying snowboarding. Tori and Phoebe got on boards under the careful guidance of Carey and Max and Course Leader Holly graduated from the Plaza chair to the Ridge chair with some help from Rosie.
✏️ Latest addition Ben is settling in well and hosted games night at Powder Ridge with a gang.
