Congratulations to our latest Legend of the Month, Cam Stewart! Cam’s photo is up on our Facebook wall now. Here, we find out a bit more about our first cover star of the month…
SnowSkool: Tell us a bit more about your #SnowSkoolLegend photo and what memories you have from it...
Cam: We arrived into Les 2 Alpes, the first week in January (no hordes of French school kids to put us to shame) and they had had an unexpected record snow fall that day and the two days prior. The car hire company had no car available so had to give us a 4x4 for the week; subsequently we were one of the few that got up the hill without any problems, great start!!! Our apartment was next to the pub, The Red Frog, which was across the road from the lifts so racing to the bar, stumbling home to and then crawling from bed to lifts was relatively painless. Because it had been snowing so heavily, nobody had been up the hill and our first day, Sunday, was a complete bluebird. Sun splitting the sky and about 3/4 feet of fresh pow everywhere, EVERYWHERE!!!! Because the resort was so quiet, we got friendly with a couple of seasonaires who took us backcountry and beyond. THE most epic week of riding off piste and on.
The last afternoon was spent partying at the Pano bar before racing down the hill on our last run of the holiday. The picture was taken just before we set off
SnowSkool: What’s the best resort you have skied or snowboarded in?
Cam: This is a tough one. My top 3 would be Chamonix, Les 2 Alpes and Meribel (not necessarily in that order). Hard to pick one...!
SnowSkool: What’s your favourite piece of ski gear and why?
Cam: iPod. Not really snow related but there's nothing better than listening to a bit of Bob Marley on the slopes. Snow related would have to be my BCA Tracker - fortunately never had to use it!
SnowSkool: Thoughts on SnowSkool?
Cam: I would love to do the SnowSkool instructor course. Would be a hell of a better way to spend 9-5.
Well done to Cam Stewart.
