When you think of skiing in France, you might think of fresh croissants in the morning, an espresso at a mountain café, drinking an eye-watering number of Jager-bombs and dancing atop a slippery wooden table at an après bar. You may also think of cosy evenings in staying in a traditional Alpine chalet…
The best ski instructor courses in France will make the most of the lovely chalets that French resorts have to offer. Many newer resorts are purpose-built and full of efficient, but soul-less, tower blocks that house as many skiers and snowboarders as possible.
Not only did we choose Méribel as the centre of our Three Valleys’ instructor courses because of the world-class skiing, but because we wanted to offer an experience that was as equal to (if not better-than) a fancy catered chalet holiday!!
In our opinion, a ski or snowboard instructor course in the Three Valleys (staying in a chalet) is actually better than a catered chalet holiday: you get to stay for months and get a shed-load of training while you're there.

There are a load of specific features that make living in a chalet so great:
Open-plan and communal living
You’ll be living with around 10-12 other SnowSkoolers and with none of the isolation of being broken up into flats or individual/two-person hotel rooms. You’ll be able to catch up round a fire or movie, debrief after a tough day on the hill, compare exam prep and (importantly) host drinks before (and after!) your night out.
Privacy in your own chalet
You get the best of both worlds in a chalet – all the communal perks, but the privacy of your own building. You won’t be in an apartment block with hundreds of other people (sharing access, storage etc), or in a hostel where you’ll potentially share the kitchen and/or bathrooms with many others.
Bedrooms between a couple of SnowSkoolers
The rooms in SnowSkool’s chalets in Méribel are pretty spacious. Generally, it’s two to a room, but there may be some bigger ones that fit three SnowSkoolers. This means you always have your own space and won’t be in a bunk bed (pretty standard for a ski-season!).
Chalet host and freshly-cooked meals
It sounds too good to be true, but you will be catered for the entire 11 weeks! Yep, that’s like 11 back-to-back catered ski holidays! Our chalets are run by The Chalet Company, where their hosts will put on a buffet breakfast and a two-course dinner for you, six days a week.
Alpine vibes, balconies and insta-worthy views
An obvious benefit of staying an old, stone and pine chalet is the lovely look of it. Combine this with heavenly sun terraces and valley views and you get the full snowy-mountain package!
Great position near the bus, shops and slopes
The chalets we use are used as actual holiday chalets in the remaining weeks of the season. So, unlike season staff accommodation which is often far from the centre of town/slopes, our chalets benefit from awesome locations. You’ll be within walking distance of shops, bars and the bus stop to the lifts.
Chalet host laundry service
Not only do the chalet hosts cook and serve hearty food six days a week, in a SnowSkool chalet you’ll get the full chalet-package: cleaning and weekly linen changes... AKA one less thing to worry about, meaning more time for fun.
Let's have a look then!?
Chalet Daurel is one of the chalets we've secured for this season - previously an ancient farm building, it's now a roomy chalet with an open-plan living and dining area, fireplace, balconies, ski room with heated boot-warmers and en-suite bedrooms. You can walk to the slopes and centre of the village (although if you're in ski boots, you can hop on the bus which goes from just outside).
