Weekend Highlights
Canadian Family Day and President’s week in the US made for a busy long weekend as we approached Week 6 of the course. Some of the group decided to wax their skis on Saturday in prep for Level 2 classes and the new snow forecast. And a small group hit the park to have fun and work on tricks. On Saturday evening KJ, Tildy, Tara, Natalie and Adrian watched the fireworks, enjoyed a hottub followed by a lovely walk through the fairylights in the trees. There were dates and fun aplenty this weekend, Sam’s as popular a destination as ever, and ... Beeriokart is the new favourite game.
On Sunday a small group took the first lifts before the crowds really set in and were rewarded by free pancakes on offer at the vcm too.
Highlights from the week
Classes continued this week as the students gear up for Level 2 teaching module which started on Monday 26th Feb (updates on that soon). The vibe during week 6 was generally one of practise practise practise - skiing and testing out side hits and tricks. Koby was very happy to have achieved his personal goal of crushing a full rail in the park - whoop! After poor visibility at the beginning of the week it was great to end the week with some really good weather.
A big shout out to Matt and Tara who were placed in the Kelowna cup!
Après highlights included karaoke at Sam’s, takeaway cantina night, trivia night at Happy Valley Day Lodge, and open mic night at Sam’s. Nicely done Giles, Chris and Jay who were all game – resulting in some great entertainment!
After classes on Friday some left the mountain for some thrift store shopping in Kelowna.
After a relatively relaxed week there will have been a gear shift upwards as the students start their Level 2 teaching module. More news on our progress soon.
