Welcome back to another update from Big White where we have been blessed with sunshine and fresh snow; the best combo possible.
This week, training for both skiers and snowboarders has been full on with new teaching tactics and riding improvement for beyond novice as week 8 of lessons rolled around, leaving not long left to prepare for those Level 2 exams. To kickstart their training the skiers had 2 days of module training, in which they learned a lot, including the layout and expectations of the upcoming exam.
Good vibes were in no shortage throughout the resort though, as we were blessed with some continual days of sunshine, setting Spring riding conditions into place. A few of the snowboarders took to the park with their trainer's to send it in the sun. Meanwhile the skiers were shredding it down the steeps, working on their short radius turns in preparation for smashing their Level 2's out!
The first day of spring shocked us all, as were were delivered 24cm of fresh champagne powder in 24 hours, which we all welcomed with excitement. That day was epic! Every SnowSkooler in sight was out having a blast in the pow!
Group dinner was a relaxed, yet indulgent 3 course meal at The Woods on Friday night, with everyone in attendance. Monday rolled around with a study session in Globe, allowing the opportunity for some questions and ideas to be put on the table. It was great to see everyone's knowledge of skiing and snowboarding expanding each and every day, on their way up to teaching beyond novice. The next few weeks of training will be intense, insightful, tough and tiring at times, but will all be worthwhile when exams roll around in two weeks time.
Keep up the hard work everyone! Enjoy the snow, enjoy your training and enjoy your last few weeks with your new, lifelong SnowSkool friends.
Until next week!
