Lessons have continued going strong for all of our snowboarders and skiers. Techniques were refined and teaching knowledge quizzed until they all the students felt like they were ready to go into their Level 2 exams in late march.
We had some well deserved warmer weather with lots of sunbathing, some impressive goggle tans (burns in a few cases) and even a few bbqs - the vibes couldn’t have been better!
With Paddy’s day on the Sunday before their final lesson, the SnowSkoolers sensibly, but regretfully, decided not to go out! Conditions weren’t looking amazing with no fresh powder for a few weeks, and higher temperatures meant it was looking a little icy on the slopes.
However, everyone still proved a little ice couldn’t get in the way and almost everyone passed their Level 2, with big celebrations in town to follow! The celebrations continued with burgers, an après on the balcony and a chance to reunite with their instructors!
Finally, lessons and exams were all over, and everyone could relax with two weeks of free skiing ahead and 40cm of fresh snow. Everyone has been making the most of the opportunity to show off their skills (the boys having all mastered the ‘360’). Everyone has the opportunity to rent avi packs and try their hand at Delirium Dive - 'The Canadian Rockies' biggest, boldest, and steepest freeride zone'. It would have been rude not to!
Ollie and Owen also passed the park course this week, congrats boys!
With the weather warming up, everyones making the most of their last few weeks in Canada, whether its skiing everyday, trying out new local hikes to appreciate the stunning views and beautiful wildlife or just catching up on sleep, eating some good food and chilling out. We have all had a blast here and are so sad it’s coming to an end. What a season it has been.
